Chores

Every July I wash all the windows of our octagon house. Some people do this chore a lot more than once a year and some a lot less. Since our windows are mostly set low, its easy to clean them, no ladder needed. And with the wrap around porch, if I time it correctly, I can do them all in the shade. I like doing this job because the pay off is so nice. I can't stress enough the importance of buying a squeegee. Once I got one it made everything so much easier. I feel like a professional now.
One thing I forgot to mention last post but may be obvious is that since our pond went dry so early and we didn't get rain this winter, we also have had very few mosquitos. This has made it possible to enjoy dawn and dusk to a much larger degree. Oddly, this summer has also been uncommonly humid. I know, seems like the opposite should be true. But no, and this humidity makes our evaporative cooler a lot less effective. Anything above 25% humidity outside and we start to feel it inside. We have also had less Western Kingbirds sticking around. Could be due to the lack of grasshoppers to eat or other bugs I don't know about that also declined in number this year. Everything is connected.
